Kijaniprint Microfarm is our name and the way we work.

What’s in a Name?

  • Kijani means green in Swahili. It reflects growth, life, and the work we do with soil and seed.

  • Print refers to our process. It is a clear, repeatable way of growing that values consistency, care, and doing the work right.

  • Together, KIJANIPRINT represents a straightforward approach to farming that prioritizes quality, reliability, and access to fresh food.

We approach growth with care, consistency, and responsibility to the work and the people we serve.

The Green Print Begins Here

How KIJANIPRINT MICROFARM Began

I grew up in places where fresh food was not always easy to find close to home. Everyday shopping happened at corner stores and small markets, but fresh produce was not always part of what was available. When I first started growing microgreens, I was surprised by how simple and effective the process felt. Seeds, soil, light, and care turned into fresh greens in just a few days. It felt practical and useful, not complicated or distant. That experience stayed with me.

KIJANIPRINT MICROFARM grew from the idea that fresh food should feel normal and accessible, not something you have to go out of your way to find.

How We Operate

Today we grow soil grown microgreens indoors year round and deliver them fresh each week to stores, restaurants, chefs, and households across Metro Detroit.

We grow consistently.
We deliver reliably.
We make fresh food easier to access where people already shop and eat.

Our greens are harvested by hand, chilled quickly, and packed ready for kitchens and grab and go coolers. No prep required. Just fresh food that is easy to use and easy to sell.

How We Grow

Everything we grow starts in soil inside insulated grow tents where temperature, light, and airflow are carefully managed. This allows us to produce consistent harvests regardless of season.

We focus on crops that work in real kitchens and real stores, including pea shoots, radish, broccoli, mustard, carrot, and beet microgreens.

Every tray is grown with care, harvested by hand, and packed fresh so quality stays steady from farm to shelf.

Why This Work Matters

Fresh food should not feel distant or out of reach. It should feel like part of everyday life.

By delivering microgreens to neighborhood stores, restaurants, and kitchens, we help bring fresh options closer to the routines people already have. The goal is not to change how people eat. The goal is to make fresh food available where people already are.

A Family Operation

KIJANIPRINT MICROFARM is a family run, mother daughter operation built on shared responsibility and consistent work.

My mother, Cheryl, brings a lifelong connection to gardening along with strong organizational focus. She supports planting schedules, order coordination, and the systems that keep production steady week to week.

What began as hands on learning developed into a working operation with clear roles and reliable output. We continue to grow with intention, staying focused on quality, consistency, and doing the work well.

Growing Forward

KIJANIPRINT MICROFARM continues to grow with support from local partners, chefs, retailers, and customers who value consistency, care, and access to fresh food.

We are building toward expanded production and future farm locations that allow us to serve more neighborhoods while keeping quality and reliability at the center of everything we do in Detroit.

Work With Us
